Behind the Scenes: Our 214-Video Journey 😳

Two weeks ago, I shared our plan to film 214 videos in 5 weeks before heading to Europe.

Well, I’m writing this from my home studio in Mexico, and here’s what’s been happening.

We had a bit of a slow start. Only because we were delivering strategies for a couple of clients, and onboarding a new CEO to PBA. But this entire week has been dedicated to creating content.

And here’s where we stand:

Podcasts filmed: 3/10
Talking heads filmed: 21/50
Vlogs filmed: 2/10
YAPs: 8/50

Total filmed: 70 videos out of 214 (32%)

Batch content creation is the ultimate freedom strategy. Here’s what we’ve been doing to help us:

We’ve been using our custom AirTable Content Calendar to help write down and organize all of our ideas. We assign content topics, content types, deadlines, the link to the uploaded media for editors to edit, the status of the video – whether it’s been ideated, scripted, filmed, uploaded, edited, or published.

We basically track everything.

And this is how we’re able to actually know how much we’ve done when we have such diverse types of content.

This also helps us batch a whole bunch of content for us to set a day or 2 during the week where we can sit down and film as many videos as we can.

A lot of these videos were actually filmed in less time than you think. So a lot of the work goes into it ahead of time with the preparation.

When you’re creating such a high volume of content, it’s important that you have a place to keep track of every piece so you can organize it and make sure it actually goes out and doesn’t get buried in your drives.

There’s a saying that goes: “What you track and observe, you control.”
